POSITION OF TIPSTAFF TO THE HON JUSTICE SARAH PRITCHARD SC

Applications are invited for the position of Tipstaff to the Hon Justice Sarah Pritchard SC of the Land and Environment Court of New South Wales. The appointment will commence in late 2022 and run to January 2024.

Job Description:

The role of the tipstaff is to provide a high level of legal and administrative support to her Honour and involves court work, legal research, assistance in the preparation of judgments, liaising with the Court registry and the legal profession, and other tasks that facilitate the smooth running of her Honour’s chambers.

Qualifications:

Applicants must have a strong academic record (distinction average), excellent legal research and drafting skills, and preferably 12 months of post-university experience working in legal practice. 

Applications:

Applications should include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, academic transcript and a sample of written work in a relevant area of law (preferably environmental, administrative or criminal law). Applications should also contain the names and contact details of two referees.

Applicants should address the following selection criteria in their covering letter:

  • highly developed legal research, conceptual and analytical skills;
  • excellent writing skills; and
  • strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
